Its kind of funny how graphic design came into my life, just one of those things that falls into your path. I was always planning to study filmmaking in college but there was no program available for it at Cobleskill. I chose graphic design last minute because it sounded cool and I knew that I liked to draw, but I actually had no idea what I had stumbled upon. My experience with graffiti made the study of typography surprisingly interesting. It was amazing to apply visual concepts that I was already familiar with into a digital medium, such as strokes, gradients, drop shadows, etc. I immediately recognized the potential to create things in a new dynamic and versatile form, and that it would be such a practical skill to acquire in a growing digital age.

I have designed for all sorts of applications, including book jackets, album covers, logos, business cards, product packaging, pamphlets, flyers, posters, t shirts, and websites. I am usually open to accept new jobs for any of the above. Each project I take on begins with extensive research into the client in order to fully grasp the story they need to tell. While branding a business, I aim to create a design that speaks about the client’s personality, values, goals, and history. The first stage of any project is to draw a page of sketches that show the client a variety of possibilities (examples included in certain projects). From there I bring the designs into a digital application and create another sample page of options based on the client’s initial feedback. This is a great way to make them a significant of the process, and make creative decisions based on their input.
